Sporty turns between glacier, mountain and lake: The Ski&Golf World Championships from 7 to 11 May 2025 in Zell am See-Kaprun promise a unique combination of skiing and golf. World-class athletes from all over the world will compete in both sports to claim the coveted and unique title of Ski&Golf World Champion.
MAES, GRUGGER & CO CHASE A NEW BEST TIME
The World Championships kick off with the giant slalom at almost 3,000 metres above sea level on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier. Against the impressive backdrop of the Hohe Tauern National Park, the participants must choose the right line for the first time. With a race time of around 40 seconds, the World Cup participants show off their skiing skills - and their fastest turns. This year, there are two favourites for the best time: Sam Maes, who arrives in Zell am See-Kaprun directly from the Ski World Cup final in Sun Valley, and Hans Grugger, who is now in ‘ski retirement’ but has won four World Cup races in his racing career. However, neither Sam Maes nor Hans Grugger will be able to match Bode Miller's best times from previous years - because the race course will be extended by around ten seconds.
FROM SKI TO GOLF SWING
After the ski race, the World Championships entourage changes location and heads to the Zell am See-Kaprun Golf Club. The only 36-hole leading golf course in the Alps provides an impressive stage, offering breathtaking views of the majestic Kitzsteinhorn. On two tournament days, the aim is to show the best golf swings after fast ski turns and to find the ideal line on the putting greens as well. Saturday afternoon will show which ski racer has unpacked his best golf - or which golf pro or single handicapper has made the best catch-up on the golf course. One thing is certain: The best allrounders will secure medals and World Championship titles.
WORLD CHAMPS FEVER IS ON THE RISE - FROM OPENING TO APRÈS-SKI&GOLF PARTY
Either way, every participant will catch World Champs fever - and the trend is rising - thanks to a world-class supporting programme: from the opening gala and celebrity talks to BBQ & free beer, the glittering award ceremony and the legendary après-Ski&Golf World Championships party with DJ and saxophone sounds.
SPORTING HIGHLIGHT WITH INTERNATIONAL FLAIR
What makes the Ski&Golf World Championships so special is the unique combination of two completely different disciplines: in both the giant slalom on the glacier and the golf tournament in the valley, the participants must prove their sporting versatility, precision and concentration. The results from both competitions make up the overall ranking - an experience that challenges both athletically and mentally. Once again this year, professional skiers such as Hans Grugger and Sam Maes will be joined by golf pros, entrepreneurs and prominent guests. The Ski&Golf World Championships is therefore not only a top sporting event, but also an exclusive meeting place for the international sports and business community - nestled between glacier, mountain and lake.
