To the limits and beyond: Winter Spartan Race 2020

Speed, agility, stamina and team spirit – the Winter Spartan Race demands everything from the participants. Spartan Race, the world’s biggest and most famous obstacle race series, invites to its second edition in Zell am See-Kaprun on 11 and 12 January 2020. With a spectacular wintry mountain scenery around Kaprun Castle as background, there is a choice of four disciplines at the only Winter Spartan Race in the German-speaking countries: Spartan Sprint, Spartan Super, Hurricane Heat and Hurricane Heat HH12HR.

Ice, Ice Baby: The second edition of the legendary GP Ice Race

Two days of motorsports in extreme conditions and an extraordinary atmosphere: The GP Ice Race, relaunched with a spectacular premiere last year after 45 years of sleeping beauty slumber, will take place again in Zell am See-Kaprun in 2020.

For explorers: The new Kitzsteinhorn Explorer Tour

Nature experiences for everyone: The Kitzsteinhorn EXPLORER Tour will be available as winter edition for the first time from 31 December 2019 until 14 April 2020. Accompanied by a National Park Ranger, participants explore four climate zones from the valley up to the world of the glaciers in just one day and learn how glacier ice is formed, where golden eagles and bearded vultures are at home or what strategies mountain flora develops to survive the cold.

For early birds: Ski’n’Brunch on the Schmittenhöhe

I am first! The Schmittenhöhe cable car opens its gondola doors from 7am already on nine days in 2020. Accompanied by a unique sunrise above the mountains, winter sports fans have the possibility to enjoy freshly groomed pistes for 1.5 hours before anyone else. Energy for a day of skiing provides a substantial brunch on the Schmiedhof Alm or the Blaickner’s Sonnalm afterwards.
