Carve and drive between glacier and green: this was the motto of the Ski&Golf World Championships in Zell am See-Kaprun from 7 to 11 May 2025. Antje Heissel and Sam Maes prevailed against a field of over 125 top international athletes and were crowned this year's Ski&Golf World Champions.

Over 125 athletes from a total of twelve nations took on the challenging combination of ski competition and golf tournament. The weekend kicked off on Thursday with the giant slalom at 3,000 metres above sea level on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area. The following day, the World Championship entourage moved from the race piste to the region's green - the Golf Club Zell am See-Kaprun. On the only 36-hole Leading Golf Course in the Alps and against the imposing backdrop of the Kitzsteinhorn, the exciting decisions for the coveted World Championship title were made on two tournament days.

LOCAL HERO SAM MAES AND GERMAN ANTJE HEISSEL TOOK THE CROWN

A prominent name was already leading the rankings after the giant slalom on the first day of the competition: Alpine ski racer and Zell am See-Kaprun ambassador Sam Maes came out on top with a lead of over two seconds. The Belgian, who was born in Zell am See afterwards sucessfully defended his lead on the golf course on both days and was crowned World Champion 2025. Antje Heissel from Germany repeated her triumph from the previous year in the women's field. The podium was completed by Tina Sophia Honnef (SUI) and Sophie Dekker (NED) in the women's category and Michael Vonbank (AUT) and another local hero with Alexander Heitzmann from Zell am See (AUT) in the men's category.
