HIGH ALPINE EXPERIENCES AT 3,000 METRES
The Kitzsteinhorn glacier is located in the middle of Austria's highest mountains and offers visitors of the TOP OF SALZBURG viewing platform at 3,029 metres a stunning view of the surrounding mountain world on the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park. But the Kitzsteinhorn not only offers fabulous views, it also provides welcome refreshment in the summer heat in the ICE ARENA: Guests can make up for a missed winter holiday in the eternal ice of the glacier with a snowball fight, tobogganing or in a deckchair on the "snow beach". Even skiing and snowboarding is possible on the pistes of the Kitzsteinhorn until 24 July 2021. Those who have had enough of fun in the snow can enjoy absolute freedom in nature while hiking or mountain biking on the Kitzsteinhorn and on the Maiskogel family mountain. The diverse hiking trails range from relaxed and leisurely hut tour to the sporty challenge on the "My first three-thousand-metre high peak" guided summit tour. The new Maiskogel Trail will be added to the wide range of mountain bike and freeride routes in summer 2021. Thanks to its wide design and low gradient, the trail is ideal for beginners and families. The bike tours on the Kitzsteinhorn and Maiskogel can also be combined with all cable cars. With the K-onnection, guests are taken from the village of Kaprun directly to the glacier, and experience unique panoramic views while climbing 2,261 metres in altitude - the largest difference in altitude metres in the Eastern Alps. Accompanied by a National Park Ranger, guests explore nature from the valley to the glacier world and learn more about the formation of the glacier ice as well as the flora and fauna in the four climate zones on the Kitzsteinhorn Explorer Tour.
